Strength & Tone

The Strength and Tone class at the IWD integrates strength-training exercises with stretching exercises. Body weight, exercise bands and hand weights are used in order to improve and maintain range of motion and strength.>

Participants in Strength and Tone classes may experience:

  • Stretching and flexibility.
  • Cardiovascular conditioning.
  • Some basic self defense as well as empowerment by learning how to focus energy.
  • Conversation with a peer group faced with many similar challenges.
  • The value of exercising routinely outside of the class.

From the instructor:  "Every day that I teach class is a remarkable experience for me. The effort that my students make just to get to class and the energy and positive attitudes they bring make me feel privileged to teach them."
